Gracie Bates-Davis, LCPC

Experience

I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in Illinois. I have over twelve years of experience working in mental health. I have experience in residential treatment, outpatient therapy, spiritual settings, and community mental health. I enjoy spending time with my family and friend, visiting local bookstores, and riding my bike along the lakefront. In addition, I love spending time with my pets; Boston Terriers named Oliver (Ollie), Izzy, and Max.

Approach

I want to hear about your story, challenges, strengths, and life! Stories link each of us together, and there is power in telling your story. Shared stories in session are sacred and valued. In creating a safe place without judgment or fear, you can be your authentic self, and this is where the therapeutic work can begin. I tailor therapy to each client. I use many approaches to ensure I meet clients where they are in reaching their goals to live a full life.

I use the following counseling theories (but not limited):

  • Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
  • Faith-Based
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Grief Therapy
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Strengths-Based
  • Trauma-Informed
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
